Main
Street Commons will be the first development
of its kind in the rapidly growing Town
of Gilbert, Arizona. This open-air streetscape
will provide a careful blend of entertainment
and festivities, pedestrian-friendly
walkways, and regionally inspired architecture.
It will provide the setting for an exciting
mixed-use urban district home to upscale
merchants and top-tier restaurants,
both national and regional.
This new village concept will engage
its shoppers with a sense of place reminiscent
of America’s traditional downtowns.
Main Street Commons will feature a central
community plaza with a spirited water
feature, convenient on-street parking,
diverse multi-storied building facades
and canopied pedestrian pathways. Energetic
retail, specialty dining, parades, community
festivals, and live concerts will all
be a part of Main Street Commons.ll.
The unique approach is geared to make
car buying more like a trip to an amusement
park, rather than a dreadful chore.
By surrounding buyers with aesthetic
pathways and luxury boutiques, the new
car buying experience becomes an anticipated
event.
The 130-acre SanTan Motorplex is planned
to open in 2006. At full build-out,
the auto mall will be home to 15 automakers
employing 1,300-1,500 employees.
